Sunday 05-Apr-09 Burrell Clark's case was featured on A&E First 48 "Shooting Spree". 5:00 am gunfire rips through an East Side neighborhood. When police respond to the scene, they find a man in a backyard dead. The area is known as a high narcotics area. The man had been shot twice in the upper chest. He is identified as Anthony Tillman a.k.a. Ant 39. Ant was known as a handyman in the neighborhood. At the scene, a 9mm casing was found
A man came forward and said he was with the victim in a house moments before someone came to the door and asked for the victim. The next thing the friend knew he heard the victim begging for his life, then shots fired
The North End District called over to police and said 5 minutes after the shooting of Anthony, a man tried to carjack a van at a gas station. The gas station was located 3 blocks away from the homicide. The police went to the gas station to watch the surveillance video. When police viewed the video, they noticed a man walking towards a van that is pulling in, and the man is pointing a gun and fires 3 shots into the windshield and then runs away
When the police collect the shell casings at the gas station, they find the bullets are of the same caliber as the homicide casing they found. The man wanted to carjack the van in order to get out of the neighborhood. No one was shot or killed. Police reviewed the video again to try to see the face of the shooter. Police took the casings from both scenes back to ballistics hoping they are from the same shooter
Ballistics compare the casings, if the markings match they know they were shot from the same gun. Same meaning the shooter of Anthony and the shooting at the gas station are from the same shooter
The police receive a tip from the victim's friend stating the man Anthony was arguing with name is "June". The friend does not know June's real name or where he lives. Police take photos from the surveillance video to the friend and asked if he could ID June from the photos. He ID's June as the man arguing with Anthony. Police put June's name in the system and find out he is Burrell Clark by matching the photos
Police called Special Ops to track down June. An all out search was on. Whilst searching in neighborhoods the police see a man running into a garage. They approach the man and he told them that June was hiding out in an apartment nearby. Police surround the apartment building looking for June, a woman answers the door and says she has not seen June for months and that she does not know where he is
Burrell Clark is on the run
Police go to the house of the driver of the van that was shot at and showed him a photo line-up and asked if he could ID the shooter in the photos. The man IDs Burrell Clark as the shooter
A warrant was typed and forwarded to the prosecutor's office. The show ended with police still searching for Burrell Clark
